WE ARE FARMERS RISING

At Farmers Rising, we lift up the people doing local and regenerative farming. We are at the forefront of farmer training and public education, actively working to develop a vibrant, creative community centered around local food. We offer a variety of educational opportunities at our two main program locations in Rockford and Caledonia, Illinois, as well as throughout the region.

Our programs lift up farmers and support the launch and growth of local, sustainable farms through production and financial management training. We address food sovereignty by expanding access to land and locally grown food. And we empower individuals to make food choices that positively impact personal, community and environmental health.

Farmers, you're at the center of our mission. Get the support you need through our core training programs:

Attend Farm Beginnings: a personalized, virtual entrepreneurship program for aspiring and beginning farmers to launch or level up their farm businesses.
Access farmland, farm equipment and technical support by starting a new farm business on our Livestock Incubator at our Caledonia campus.
Learn from your peer farmers at Farmers Rising Network Events, through a variety of field days, workshops, and virtual events throughout the year with topics focusing on the core themes of soils, plants, animals, and people.

Farmer dreamers and supporters: You might not be ready to farm yourself but you also have an important role to play in transforming local food systems!

Purchase delicious, organically grown food from our very own urban farm in Rockford, via our Farmers Rising Rockford CSA program.
Interact with and learn from local farmers and environmental specialists at one of our many enriching, hands-on Community Programs for youth and adults alike, including summer camps and school field trips.
Volunteer with us at fun community events including our annual Alfalfa Music Festival.
